Vattenfall's West Sweden operations near Gothenburg are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel specialising in nuclear and environmental law. - Advise on compliance with kärntekniklagen (Nuclear Activities Act) and Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten (SSM — Swedish Radiation Safety Authority) regulations
- Handle environmental permits for nuclear facilities under miljöbalken and Mark- och miljödomstolen (Land and Environment Court) proceedings
- Manage nuclear waste disposal legal framework including kärnavfallsfonden (Nuclear Waste Fund) obligations
- Advise on nuclear decommissioning planning and regulatory approvals
- Support new build and Small Modular Reactor (SMR) feasibility assessments
Requirements
- Swedish juristexamen; 6-10 years PQE in nuclear, environmental, or energy law
- Knowledge of kärntekniklagen, SSM regulations, and miljöbalken
- Experience with Mark- och miljödomstolen proceedings preferred
- Swedish security clearance eligible
