Job Description

Mayer Brown Hong Kong is recruiting a Shipping & Admiralty Solicitor for its Central office. Hong Kong is one of Asia's premier maritime centres, and you will advise shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs, and commodity traders on shipping disputes, charter party claims, and marine insurance matters.

  • Handle shipping and admiralty disputes including cargo claims, charter party disputes, and collision matters
  • Advise on ship arrest proceedings in the Admiralty jurisdiction of the Hong Kong High Court
  • Handle marine insurance claims and P&I club matters
  • Advise on compliance with Hong Kong Merchant Shipping (Safety) Ordinance

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor admitted in Hong Kong or England & Wales
  • 3-6 years PQE in shipping, admiralty, or maritime law
  • Experience with HKIAC or London maritime arbitration an advantage
