Position Overview
Job Description
ACCRALAW is seeking an experienced Tax Attorney to join its Tax Department at the firm's offices in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig. The role involves advising clients on Philippine tax planning, compliance, and dispute resolution before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
Key Responsibilities
- Advise corporate and individual clients on income tax, value-added tax (VAT), documentary stamp tax, and local government taxation under the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) as amended by the TRAIN Law (RA 10963)
- Prepare and file tax returns, BIR rulings requests, and tax treaty relief applications
- Handle tax assessments, protests, and administrative appeals before the BIR
- Represent clients in judicial proceedings before the Court of Tax Appeals
- Advise on tax aspects of M&A transactions, real estate transfers, and corporate restructurings
- Draft tax opinion letters and conduct tax due diligence for investment transactions
Requirements
- Admitted to the Philippine Bar with active IBP membership
- 5-8 years of tax law experience at a major law firm or the BIR
- Expert knowledge of the NIRC, TRAIN Law (RA 10963), CREATE Act (RA 11534), and BIR regulations
- Experience in tax litigation before the Court of Tax Appeals
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a strong advantage
- J.D. or LL.B. from a top Philippine law school
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and client advisory skills
Compensation
₱100,000 - ₱160,000/year
