Danish public procurement law, governed by the Danish Public Procurement Act (Udbudsloven) implementing the EU Procurement Directives, is highly technical and heavily litigated before the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement (Klagenævnet for Udbud). You will advise public authorities and tenderers on complex procurement procedures.
What You Will Do
- Advise Danish municipalities, regions, and state entities on public procurement under the Udbudsloven
- Represent clients before the Klagenævnet for Udbud in procurement complaints and standstill challenges
- Advise on public-private partnerships (PPP/OPP) and concession agreements
- Draft procurement documentation including tender conditions, evaluation criteria, and framework agreements
- Advise on state aid and public funding matters
- Handle municipal law (kommunalret) advisory for local government clients
Responsibilities
- Advise on public procurement procedures from planning through contract award
- Represent clients in complaints proceedings before the Klagenævnet
- Draft tender documentation and evaluate procurement legal compliance
- Advise on PPP structures and concession agreements
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to public-sector clients
Requirements
- Danish Bar admission (advokat) or senior advokatfuldmægtig
- Cand.jur. from a Danish university
- 4-7 years of experience in Danish public procurement or public sector law
- Knowledge of the Udbudsloven, EU Procurement Directives, and Klagenævnet practice
- Fluent in Danish and English
- Experience advising public authorities is a strong advantage
Compensation
kr48,000 - kr60,000/year
