The Attorney will structure GBC-based holding vehicles for private equity, infrastructure, and natural resources investments across Africa, leveraging ENSafrica's pan-African presence in 28 jurisdictions. The role combines Mauritius regulatory work under the Financial Services Act 2007 with cross-border advisory spanning East Africa, Southern Africa, and francophone West Africa — a uniquely pan-African practice from the Ebene Cybercity hub.
Responsibilities
- Structure GBC-based holding vehicles for investments into Africa under the Financial Services Act 2007
- Advise on Mauritius's IPPA and DTAA network for treaty-based investment protection
- Draft shareholder agreements, investment agreements, and cross-border commercial contracts
- Coordinate with ENSafrica offices across 28 African jurisdictions on multi-country transactions
- Engage with the FSC on GBC licensing and the Board of Investment on substance requirements
- Research regulatory developments across target African investment jurisdictions
Requirements
- Attorney admitted by the Mauritius Bar Council with 4–7 years' post-admission experience
- Experience structuring cross-border investments through Mauritius GBC vehicles
- Knowledge of the Financial Services Act 2007, Companies Act 2001, and Mauritius's Africa treaty network
- Understanding of private equity fund structures and holding company arrangements
- Familiarity with African regulatory environments — East Africa, SADC, or OHADA jurisdictions preferred
- LL.B. from a recognised institution; LL.M. in international commercial law advantageous
- Bilingual English and French essential for francophone Africa mandates
Compensation
Rs70,000 - Rs100,000/year
