ENSafrica, Africa's largest law firm, offers a 12-month paid Pupillage in its Corporate and Africa Advisory practice at its Ebene Cybercity office. ENSafrica's Mauritius practice provides a uniquely pan-African training environment — Pupils work on cross-border investment structuring into Africa, GBC formation, and commercial transactions that span ENSafrica's 28-jurisdiction network across the continent.

Pupils gain exposure to the Financial Services Act 2007, the Companies Act 2001, and Mauritius's role as Africa's premier investment gateway. The firm's Ebene Cybercity location, alongside the FSC and the Board of Investment, provides daily engagement with the Global Business ecosystem during the Pupillage training year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Attorneys with GBC formation and cross-border investment structuring for Africa-focused mandates
  • Research regulatory frameworks across African target jurisdictions
  • Draft basic corporate documents, shareholder agreements, and compliance filings
  • Support due diligence processes for M&A and investment transactions
  • Attend industry events and Financial Services Commission regulatory briefings
  • Prepare research memoranda on legal developments in target African markets

Requirements

  • LL.B. from the University of Mauritius, UK, South Africa, or equivalent recognised institution
  • Strong academic record in corporate law, commercial law, and international law
  • Interest in pan-African legal practice and cross-border investment structuring
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services Act 2007 and Companies Act 2001
  • Bilingual English and French essential for francophone Africa mandates
  • Commitment to the full 12-month Pupillage
  • No prior professional legal experience required
