Job Description
The attorney filling this position will represent the United States, its agencies, and employees predominantly in civil litigation brought by or against the government. The attorney may handle a variety of cases including: actions under the Federal Tort Claims Act (premises liability, vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, etc.), constitutional tort claims against federal employees, general employment litigation, and litigation filed by federal prisoners and immigration detainees. Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree (or equivalent) and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) by their entry on duty date. Law school graduates and current law students taking a July 2026 bar examination may be considered, subject to the foregoing requirements. United States citizenship is required.
