Position Overview
Job Description
International Counsel Bureau (ICB) is seeking an Associate to join its International Arbitration practice in Sharq, Kuwait City, near the Boursa Kuwait. ICB has represented clients in some of Kuwait's most significant arbitration proceedings, and this role offers exposure to high-value energy, construction, and investment disputes under ICC, LCIA, and ICSID rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare written submissions, witness statements, and expert reports for international arbitration proceedings
- Conduct legal research on Kuwaiti arbitration law (Judicial Arbitration Law No. 11 of 1995) and international arbitration frameworks
- Assist in the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards under the New York Convention in Kuwait courts
- Draft arbitration agreements and dispute resolution clauses for commercial contracts
- Attend hearings and assist lead counsel in oral advocacy
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in International Arbitration or Dispute Resolution preferred
- Licensed by the Kuwait Bar Association or qualified in a common law jurisdiction
- 2-4 years PQE in dispute resolution or commercial litigation
- Experience with ICC or LCIA proceedings
- Bilingual Arabic/English; French an advantage
