Job Description
UniCredit Bulbank, the largest bank in Bulgaria by assets, is seeking an In-House Legal Counsel specializing in regulatory banking. The role involves advising on BNB regulatory requirements, EU banking directives, and compliance with evolving financial services legislation. Responsibilities
Advising business units on regulatory compliance with BNB and ECB requirements; Monitoring and implementing new banking regulations and EU directives; Preparing regulatory filings, reports, and notifications to BNB; Advising on capital adequacy, liquidity requirements, and prudential standards; Supporting the bank's response to regulatory inspections and audits; Coordinating with UniCredit Group on cross-border regulatory matters; Reviewing internal policies and procedures for regulatory alignment.
Requirements
Master's degree in Law; 4-6 years of experience in banking law, financial regulation, or compliance; Deep knowledge of the Credit Institutions Act, Payment Services and Payment Systems Act, and BNB regulations; Understanding of EU banking directives (CRD V, CRR II, BRRD); Experience with regulatory reporting and supervisory interactions; Fluent English and Bulgarian; Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.
