Job Description
Legal Counsel – Mobility & Autonomous Vehicles
Hyundai Motor Company is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Mobility Legal Team at Seocho-gu, Seoul. You will provide legal support for Hyundai's autonomous driving (Level 3/4), urban air mobility (UAM), robotics, and mobility-as-a-service initiatives — the future of Korea's automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Advise on legal frameworks for autonomous vehicle testing and deployment under Korea's Automobile Management Act and emerging AV legislation
- Support Hyundai's urban air mobility (UAM) programme with aviation regulation, airspace management, and certification requirements
- Draft and negotiate technology licensing agreements, data sharing agreements, and collaboration contracts with technology partners
- Advise on data privacy obligations under 개인정보보호법 (PIPA) for connected vehicle data collection and processing
- Monitor international regulatory developments for autonomous vehicles in the US (NHTSA), EU, and China
Requirements
- Korean 변호사 licence with 3-5 years of technology, regulatory, or automotive law experience
- Interest in emerging technology regulation including AI, autonomous systems, and data governance
- Experience drafting technology agreements or advising on digital platform regulations
- Strong English proficiency; experience with US or EU regulatory frameworks is a plus
