Legal Intern – Maritime & Shipping
A.P. Møller - Mærsk on Esplanaden in Copenhagen offers a legal internship in its Maritime Legal team. This is a rare opportunity to experience in-house maritime law practice at the world's largest container shipping company, surrounded by Copenhagen Harbour and Denmark's rich maritime heritage.
You will assist in-house counsel on charter party matters, cargo claims, and maritime regulatory compliance, gaining exposure to the breadth of legal challenges facing a global shipping and logistics company.
What You Will Do
- Research maritime law issues under the Søloven and international maritime conventions
- Assist with charter party dispute analysis and documentation review
- Draft legal memoranda on cargo claims and liability matters
- Support the team on maritime regulatory compliance (IMO, EU ETS)
- Assist with contract review for vessel operations
Responsibilities
- Support the maritime legal team on disputes and advisory matters
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda
- Assist with contract and document review
- Attend team meetings and training sessions
- Complete assigned research projects
Requirements
- Enrolled in or recently completed cand.jur. at a Danish university
- Interest in maritime law, shipping, or international trade
- Fluent in English; Danish is preferred
- Knowledge of the Søloven or international maritime law basics is an advantage
- Interest in the shipping and logistics industry
Compensation
kr16,000 - kr20,000/year
