Senior Legal Counsel — Upstream

ADNOC is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Upstream Legal team at ADNOC Headquarters on Corniche Road, Abu Dhabi. You will provide legal support for ADNOC's exploration and production operations, concession agreements, and joint venture partnerships with international oil companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate upstream concession agreements, production sharing contracts, and farm-in/farm-out agreements
• Advise on Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council regulations and ADNOC Group governance frameworks
• Support the negotiation of joint operating agreements (JOAs) and unitization agreements
• Manage disputes arising from upstream operations, including technical arbitration under ICC rules
• Advise on HSE compliance, environmental regulations, and decommissioning obligations
• Coordinate with external counsel on complex cross-border transactions and international arbitration

• 10+ years PQE in oil and gas law with upstream experience
• Deep knowledge of production sharing agreements, concession frameworks, and JOA structures
• Experience working with national oil companies or major international oil companies
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi petroleum legislation and regulatory framework
• Common law or civil law qualification accepted
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage
• Willingness to be based full-time in Abu Dhabi
