State Counsel – Civil Division
The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) is seeking a State Counsel for its Civil Division, located near the Supreme Court in the Civic District. Key Responsibilities
- Represent the Government in civil litigation before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and tribunals
- Advise government ministries and statutory boards on constitutional law, administrative law, and public policy legal issues
- Draft legal opinions on government contracts, procurement disputes, and public-private partnerships
- Handle judicial review proceedings and advise on the exercise of statutory powers
- Support legislative drafting and review of subsidiary legislation as required
Requirements
- Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore
- 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, public law, or government advisory
- Strong knowledge of constitutional and administrative law principles
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills
- Singapore citizen or permanent resident
Compensation
S$7,000 - S$10,000/year
