NNPC Limited, Nigeria’s national oil company transformed into a commercial entity in 2022, is seeking a Senior Legal Adviser to join the Legal Division. The role involves advising on upstream oil and gas contracts, production sharing contracts (PSCs), joint operating agreements (JOAs), farm-in/farm-out transactions and international joint ventures.NNPC operates across the entire petroleum value chain and the Legal Division supports all business units on transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution

Responsibilities
- Reviewing and negotiating production sharing contracts, service contracts and JOAs
- Advising on upstream licensing rounds and bid evaluations
- Providing legal support for NNPC’s commercial operations across upstream, midstream and downstream
- Managing external counsel on complex oil and gas disputes
- Advising on compliance with NUPRC and NMDPRA regulations under the PIA 2021
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
- 8-12 years post-call experience in oil and gas, energy or project finance law
- Deep knowledge of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 and Nigerian oil and gas regulatory framework
- Experience with production sharing contracts and JOAs
- LL.M in Petroleum Law, Energy Law or related discipline preferred
Compensation
₦1,200,000 - ₦1,800,000/month
